Sara DaSie (Ms. Sara), Young Learners Academy

About this Nominee

Sara DaSie (“Ms. Sara”) is a preschool teacher at Young Learners Academy and has been with the company since its creation in 2022.  Ms. Sara is beloved by her students, their families, and her colleagues.  She embodies all of what Young Learners Academy aims to be–dedicated, warm, and loving.  In addition, Ms. Sara’s story is inspirational to all those around her.  After being told early in her career that she would never be able to be a teacher and lead a class due to her hearing disability, Ms. Sara proved the naysayers wrong and has shown herself to be not just a wonderful teacher but a leader in her class and the preschool as a whole.  She’s also turned what others might perceive to be a weakness into a strength by using her unique experiences and knowledge to teach her students sign language.  Based on these characteristics and accomplishments, among many others, it is an honor to nominate Ms. Sara for Employee of the Year.
